LOVE this book! TOTALLY
This is the 3rd book to the Love Undercover series - I didn't read the first two, but it didn't matter . Alice and Reece and Pepper and Logan are in this book, but the focus is on these guys - I'm wondering who will be next - I'm kind of pulling for Dash - not sure if Cannon is one of the books the author is planning on write, but I'd love to read his story too :)
LOTS of great stuff in this book - Rowdy is the owner of the bar, and Avery is his bartender, consultant type friend - who Rowdy can't take his eyes off of.
Assuming from another book, the bar had once been owned by bad people, and Rowdy was able to clean out the bad guys and buy the bar. With the help of his friends, he turned the place into a respectable establishment and has a lot of great customers.
Rowdy has a past that he doesn't like to talk about. But his past is what makes him who he is today. A protector - A fighter (always for what is right) and an all around good guy. but don't you dare tell Rowdy that. :)
Avery isn't afraid of Rowdy. She knows all about his lifestyle. He hits on her every night, but when she turns him down, he finds another female to take her place. Nice to feel appreciated, right?
it's not until that time when Avery walked into his office and found him with another woman, that Rowdy could finally see that Avery wasn't turning him down because she didn't want him. She was doing it because she wanted him to want her - Guys, they're so slow sometimes :)
Rowdy is anything but a softy, when a drug dealer comes into the bar looking for trouble, Rowdy knows how to deal with it. But when the stupid dealer dragged his kid with him , Rowdy about blew a fuse!
Rowdy gets caught off guard in a fight and gets cut with a knife. Avery sees from the window inside and after everything is under control, runs out to help him. She doesn't leave his side.
Now Rowdy isn't one to be cuddled, but he kind of likes the attention.
Avery insists on helping him and making sure he doesn't over use the stitches. But when they realize what time it is and that they've been up all night, they head to bed for some much needed sleep.
You'd think it would be Rowdy up all night watching her sleep, but it was quit the opposite.
These two have an awesome chemistry. Avery doesn't take crap from Rowdy. She doesn't coward back and allow him to make the decisions. Rowdy doesn't know how to deal with that, but he's learning.
Totally in love with Rowdy and Avery's story! Can't wait for the next one. I'd like to go back and read about Reece and Logan's story, too :)
