Review: Alien Mate by Eve Langlais

Alien Mate by Eve Langlais
Alien Mate by Eve Langlais
What would you do if a naked alien materialized in your living room and told you he was your leader?

Plump Diana is ironing her underwear when the hottest blue babe in all of the galaxy appears in her living room. Did she forget to mention he was naked too? Abducted, decontaminated and dressed like a harem girl, she’s been chosen to become the hunky alien’s mate.

Kor asked his ancestors to find him a biddable, docile mate, instead they found him Diana--a curvy, argumentative earthling who sets his pulse pounding and his loins on fire. He might be an alien who doesn't understand the meaning of love, but he sure knows what he feels is more than lust.

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Diana and Kor have ample chemistry and I love the way EL (Eve Langlais) explores with their conversations.  I am a big fan of dialogue and Alien Mates has lots of it.  In fact, all of the EL's novels I've read have ample dialogue and it's one of my favorite aspects of her writing style.

Being from two entirely different planets, it is no surprise that Kor and Diana have differences but what's the sweet surprise is that they are very much compatible.  Their verbal sparring is another trade mark of EL's style and one to truly enjoy.  Initially Kor submitted a list of what he wants in a mate but apparently the Oracle knew better because Diana is opposite.  She does not relinquish easily and she demand knowledge.

As Kor and Diana make the voyage to Kor's home planet, Diana is abducted by pirates.  Being as skilled as Kor is and with the help of advance technology named Alphie, he is able to wrestle her free and destroy the pirates.  What they didn't know was that the real danger lay at home.  With that, I will say that the danger was little climactic.  It wasn't as big a bang as readers expect in a book.  I think if the climax equaled to that of the steamy passion the plot would have been complete.

All in all, sci-fi romance is still a favorite genre of mine and Eve is certainly a fantastic writer whether she spins tales of blue or purple space men.
