Seduced in the Dark
(The Dark Duet #2)
by C.J. Roberts
Jen's rating: 5 of 5 stars
The exciting, titillating, and action-filled conclusion to Captive in the Dark.
What is the price of redemption?
Rescued from sexual slavery by a mysterious Pakistani officer, Caleb carries the weight of a debt that must be paid in blood.
The road has been long and fraught with uncertainty, but for Caleb and Livvie, it’s all coming to an end.
Can he surrender the woman he loves for the sake of vengeance?
Or will he make the ultimate sacrifice?
WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.
It seemed to Caleb, the nature of human beings revolved around one empirical truth: we want what we cannot have. For Eve, it was the fruit of the forbidden tree. For Caleb, it was Livvie.

WOW - I just can't really figure out how to describe this book -
First of all, if you haven't read book one, get started on it!
I really wanted to hate it once I got through the first chapter... but once I got closer to the end.. this book did a total flip and completely blew me away!
At the end of the first book, we start off with Livvey freaking out – what happened?? All she’s doing is crying over Caleb!!
She doesn’t want to talk to anyone, especially the FBI agent Reed or Dr. Solon who is trying to figure out what happened.
But She can’t do it… after a while, she starts to form words, and things start falling out of her mouth. She tells them detailed little stories about her time with Celeb.
They just don’t seem to understand why she’s in love with him, and she is mourning over losing him. She tells them about how he was there to protect her, and make her feel safe when she didn’t. She knew he was planning on selling her into Slavery. And why. She couldn’t blame him, but she still did what she could to get him to change her mind.
When Celeb brought her to the house where they were going to meet Ralfq, he had to figure out how to turn his emotions off. He couldn’t keep her. He owed Ralfq his debt, and he always paid off his debts.
So when they got to the house, and Kitten wasn’t acting like the obedient slave she should have been, Caleb gets frustrated. She was beaten within inches of her life in the last book. And this book starts off right after the last one left off.
He knows he can’t beat her into submissive right now, but he does find other ways to deal with her punishments. Warning, if you have a squeamish towards BDSM – this is not the book for you. It’s nothing severely horrible, but the punishment does fit the crime-Anyways – So present day, she’s talking to the FBI agent Reed about her feelings towards Celeb. She’s convinced that once he understands why she’s in love with him, they will help clear her name and let her go home. But he (and I) felt like she had Stockholm Syndrome (in love with the one who kidnapped you because you didn’t have any other choice)
But Livvy knew that wasn’t the case, here. She did love Caleb. Her feelings for him were real.
So she told him everything she could to get him to understand. Agent Reed still wasn’t convinced, but he listened to the story, because he needed all the facts he could get in order to stop the Slave auction that Livvy was being trained to be in.
OK – This review kind of sucks – I’m trying hard to explain things, but it’s hard without giving away too many details or too much information J But I think I said just about all I could.
Other than it’s hard to read.. The book is very emotional, you can feel Livvy’s feelings, her fear, her love, her anxiety. And even if you weren’t abused as a kid, you can still feel how Celeb feels. He will do whatever he can to protect Kitten, even if it meant hurting himself…
