Reid Alexander can sum up his life in one word: boring. Between film projects, there’s little going on outside of interviews, photo shoots, and the premiere of the film he finished last fall. The next-to-last thing he expects is to get a second chance with Emma, the girl who rejected him. The last thing he expects is for his still-bitter-ex to be the one to offer it to him on a platter.
 

Author Recommendation: Mature Young Adults (language, drinking, sexual situations).

Well I was right from my last review - Reid and Brook are not my favorite set of people. But it looks like Reid might be at a turning point in life..

Emma runs into Graham in New York in the last book. She tells him she wants to hang out with him and his daughter.. he excepts them, and Graham is Thrilled that Emma wants to give them a chance.

We start off in Grahams POV - he retells his feelings and what he went through that fall when they were filming. his relationship with Brook and all that.

When we come back to the here and now, they were still in NY and she was leaving back to Sacramento for a few months before moving out to NY for school in the fall.
But they decided to give it a try. They had some photo shoots and the premier of "School Pride" coming up, then it would almost time for her to move out. They could handle this...

That is, until Brook and Reid set their claws into motion. WOW!

So Brook decides that she wants Graham. She has been in love with him for years, but Graham has made it clear that he just wants to be friends. She'd take that. but losing him to Emma made her see Red. She knew Emma would be long term, white picket fence and wedding bells, so she had to act fast.. and who better to call than her ex. Reid.

Yes Reid, they had their history, they still had bitter resentment, but they each had a common ground. Brook wanted Graham forever, and Reid wanted to get his hands and mouth back on Emma.

So they plotted.

With Graham 2400 miles away from Emma, And Emma and Reid having to stay in a hotel doing morning talk show and radio promotions for the movie, they would be spending a lot of time together. and the fact that the producers want them to be out in public together. Not confirming or denying that they're a couple, but making the public make their own decision about rather or not they're together.

Graham and Emma chat via Skype every night, but not for long because Graham has a lot of finals to do before he graduates from collage in a couple of weeks.

When Brook make her appearance in NYC to talk to the producers about her upcoming movie, she makes her move....

And when Emma sees the pictures, she and Graham talk things over.


The best part about Graham, is his protectiveness and possessiveness. Both were what caused him pain and misery in the past, but because of that, he and Emma had a really strong relationship. Their talking about everything, and making sure they know what is going on. It's when the secretive Brook and Reid start being sneaky, then things start to go wrong.

I am still not a huge fan of Reid, and I'm not sure I want to read the next book, which is where Reid finds his HEA - or so I'm told... but I'll read it anyways... hopefully Brook isn't in this next one. I don't think I can handle anymore of her :)

The movie isn't perfect, but none of them ever are. It's a little sugary, trying too hard to be like the classic novel on which it was based.
