Janet Begay's Crossroads Hotel has attracted the supernatural ever since it opened. But a new, dark power is rising, this time inside Janet herself. Her boyfriend Mick, a sexy dragon shapeshifter the Navajo call a Firewalker, know what terrifying magic is threatening to overwhelm Janet and her Stormwalker powers. He watches over her, ready to fight for her, to do anything to keep her safe.
But then a mysterious corpse is found near the Crossroads Hotel-and Janet becomes the main suspect. Now Janet and Mick must uncover what really happened, and their investigation leads to the most perilous decision of their lives...
The heat has definitely gone up a notch with Firewalker in more ways then one. Mick and Janet are hot and heavy in the sack and out. Their relationship is progressing and what a treat to witness. Janet's power is stepping up and making things mighty interesting. Containing her newly released powers is cut throat even more so when those around you are willing to do just that if she can't control the new burning magic.
Firewalker takes us into the dragon world that Mick has long lived and Janet doesn't shy away from standing by her man. Mick is up for trial for crimes against dragon law but Janet is not willing to bid him farewell. After all is said and done Janet's life is still not un-complicated. It's Janet Begay, trouble seems to follow her.
All in all, excellent supplement to this new series and the ending definitely has me itching for book 3: Shadow Walker.
Winter strikes the town of Magellan, and Janet must contend with an evil hotel inspector, her grandmother taking up residence, and Mick's strange behavior and unexplained absences. Shadows fill the long winters nights, and worse, a new evil seems to be stalking both Janet and Sheriff Nash Jones, one tied to Janet’s goddess mother.
