Where Lightning strikes, passion ignites...(cover blurb)
What do you get when you have a stormwalker, firewalker, a coyote God, shifters/changers,
dragons, skinwalkers, an evil Goddess, sorcerers, witches/wiccans, magical mirrors, a null and world brimming and boiling with magic......
"a colorful cast of character, a cool setting, and a twisty mystery!" quoted Emma
Holly on the back jacket.
With no doubt author Allyson James creates a intricate world of magic, mystery, the paranormal and
unyielding passion, lust and love. Characters have spice, spunk, attitude, and yet the heroine, Janet Begay,
is grounded and easy to envelop.
Page 3, I knew I would love Janet when I read: "...she'd done her best to make me her willing slave,
but I had this problem with free will. I liked it."
Janet's a woman born of a mother who lies, tricks, possesses and kills all in a heart beat.
She grows up shunned and labeled as trouble maker.
A woman of the elements, of the earth- she draws her magic from the storms: lightning, wind, rain.
Janet has great power but with limits- which is how power ought to be dealt.
Yes, she can draw on a storm for her bidding but only if it is close to her and even then there are consequences to wield such great power.
Janet is a skinwalker of the Navajo Nation but she is also something else. Something
even more powerful but with that power there is a price to pay and enemies
even more powerful but with that power there is a price to pay and enemies
to be had. Thank goodness Allyson James doesn't leave this amazing heroine on her own.
Mick.
"Six-feet-six of solid muscle in jeans (Wooo weee), a black T-shirt (why bother with when it is coming off soon?),
and motorcycle boots (only that on if I have my way), had a silver earring dangling from one ear (not a fan of but oh well), and dragon tattoos snaking down both arms (hmmm, where else may there be ink?).
His hair was black, the wild curls of it just contained in a ponytail (again not a fan but at least something to grasp on to). He had the bluest eyes I'd ever seen (to get lost in and all that jazz)....
My apologies for the impromptu commentary I just couldn't help myself.
Back to Mick.
He is a man who is in love with Janet. Willing and wanting to do anything to protect
Janet from not only an unrelenting adversary but herself as well.
But Mick has his own secrets and even more power to wield.
Mick is a mystery in himself that we soon get to unravel with Janet.
This world is set in a small town of desert lands.
I have never seen desert land with my own eyes yet through Allyson I was able
to visualize the towns mentioned like Magellan and Janet's home, Many Farms.
The thundering storms were described and felt as tangible as if I were there.
Dialogue is well written. I am someone who appreciates dialogue and character interaction
and that is present in Stormwalker.
I will go into futher detail because it is read you must pick up yourself.
However, I will highlight again that the characters are colorful- I agree with Emma Holly on
that one. They enrich the plot.
The Magic mirror is a riot.
The Sheriff, I want to kick.
The Electrician, I want duct tape on that mouth.
The Coyote, I want to see if he is action and not all only talk (and chuckles and whispers).
The Grandmother, I want to learn more from.
The dad, I want to squeeze tight in a hug.
Well, you get the picture... the characters leave you with some sort of feeling.
I recommend this book. There is sexual content with detail description.
There is an excerpt available at the end of Stormwalker for Book 2 and I must say I am
eagerly waiting.

Sounds like a great series. Not fond of the cover, needs to be less computer generated (but I'm picky about artwork). Thanks for the review.
Nice review. If you had to rate it (ex. 5/5 or A, B, C) what would it be?
