The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1) by Suzanne Collins

This post is a teaser but feel free to link your reviews.

The Hunger Games (Hunger Games, #1)

"Katniss is a 16-year-old girl living with her mother and younger sister in the poorest district of Panem, the remains of what used be the United States. Long ago the districts waged war on the Capitol and were defeated. As part of the surrender terms, each district agreed to send one boy and one girl to appear in an annual televised event called, "The Hunger Games." The terrain, rules, and level of audience participation may change but one thing is constant: kill or be killed. When Katniss' sister is chosen by lottery, she steps up to go in her place. "

***** "District 12. Where you can starve to death in safety" pg 6

The reviews on this book have been aces all around.... every blog that mentioned Hunger Games gave it praise.
I can see why.
Katniss is everything we should strive to be.  I am currently on page 115 and I am in awe.
I know this book will tear me from the inside out.  My childhood was complicated and so I can relate to having to grow up so fast and be more then the average teen.
I think it is safe to say that I will enjoy this book immensely.

Have you read this title or the series! If so, link up so others can read your thoughts!

I really enjoyed this book, along with Catching Fire. They are so fabulously written. I enjoyed the way I really could feel for Katniss and even Peeta.

Glad you are enjoying it!

Hunger Games is amazing.....
I must admit that I read a loOoOoOt of adventurous novels but Hunger Games is that and MORE!!!
What's great is that Katniss thinks of everything. For instance... how she plays the cameras and how she can imagine what Haymitch may be saying.
I REALLY hate when books, movies, or tv shows don't equip the characters/actors with what a person would really say or do.... so then I am left screaming in my head with anger because 'she should have done that' or 'he should have said that.' Not the case here... oh no...
My appetite for more and more of the story is satisfied as I turn every page. GREAT work done by Suzanne Collins.
Dundundun *suspenseful music*..... I can tell Peeta's heart is fully in truth- while Katniss is thinking he's faking it and that spells trouble in the coming pages. I can so see it coming!!!

Totally agree with you Melissa @ My World.

Melissa.... you heard right!! I am so happy I decided to listen to all the rave and see for myself.
